BACKGROUNDINFORMATION ABOUT THE COMPANY

The personnel of Oy Winpos AB has over 20 years experience with POS-systems. The company was founded in 1997 to continue the main operations of Oy Botnia Retial Data Ab (BRD) as a developer of POS-systems after BRD was split into one part focusing on retail customers (Oy Winpos Ab) and one part on industrial customers (Oy ISI Industry Software Ab).

The company supplies customers in the Nordic countries, especially speciality stores, kiosques, fast-food restaurants and the public sector, with complete informationsystems. The Winpos POS-products are used in among others the expanding Pentik-chain, member bookstores belonging to Suuri Suomalainen Kirjakerho, the chain of shoeshops Ecco Shop from Vaasa in Finland, many museums and swimming halls, and all the prison-canteens in Finland. The company also works with IT development-projects for large international companies, especially in Central Europe. Within the company there are 23 effective employees on two different locations: in Vaasa and in Helsinki. The company has specialised in developing and marketing POS-systems and importing and trading POS-peripherals.

Wedeco Management's capital investment fund Metal Fund Ky invested in Oy Winpos Ab, spring 2003.

"We have developed POS-systems for retailstores, restaurants and the public sector since 1997. Our POS-systems are highly appreciated because they are userfriendly.

We are especially successful within the specialitystores- and restaurant-area, and in the public sector. Because of the new invesments we were already in the autumn able to offer new technical solutions, which are suited for single stores, restaurants and chains of stores. This was the birth of a complete assortment of products, which are suitable for the smallest kiosques aswell as multinational chains of stores" says managing director Christer Eriksson.

Winpos Businessgroup owns all the rights to the Winpos POS-systems.

The company's offices are in Helsinki (domestic sales, import)and in Vaasa (sales, software development, international sales and Helpdesk).
